Why I love nature

January 17, 2020. Welcome to my nature photos blog. I am an amateur photographer and love to take photos, especially of mushrooms and fungi. They are interesting creatures that come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and forms. I hardly know the names of them, so I joined a mushroom group on Facebook.  I also love moss, lichen, and wildflowers. Sometimes insects and other creatures are caught in action. I take most on my iPhone as it is always handy, but I also use a Lumix when I want to lug it around.

Nature constantly reminds me of how wonderful and amazing our world is. How it is ever changing and follows cycles.  How things grow and then die, some more quickly than others.  How interdependent we all are. It tolerates the heat, the cold, the rain, the snow, fires, pollution, and man leaving it's mark big or small but it continues to prevail and rise above. Being mindful in nature reminds me that I am so tiny in comparison, just like the smallest creature we can see with the naked eye. I must never take for granted all that Mother Nature provides.
